A Short History of Cedarville UMC (From a church booklet, dated Oct. 19, 1997)

Methodism in Ohio began with the establishment of the Mad River Circuit in 1798. By 1804 Methodist services were held in Cedarville (then called Milford) with the first services being held in a family home.
